Questions

Do I need an account to start?

No. You can start in guest mode from the homepage or the sign-in page. An account adds sync, reminders, sharing, and cross-device continuity.

What happens if I close the browser in guest mode?

Your checklist data stays in that browser unless that browser's local data is cleared, you export a backup, or you move it into an account later.

What do the item statuses mean?

Not Started means you have not begun the item. In Progress means you are working on it. Complete means you have finished it. Skipped means you intentionally passed on it. N/A means it does not apply to your situation.

Why does Styx ask for my state or territory?

It uses that choice to tailor terminology, guidance, and resource links. Some items also show jurisdiction-specific notes when that local content is available.

What is the difference between section progress and overall progress?

Section progress shows how much of one checklist section you have addressed. Overall progress combines all sections into a single dashboard percentage.

Why do some items say they may not apply?

Styx hides or softens some items when your circumstances suggest they are not relevant. That is a cue to review the item, not a legal determination.

Where do I add notes?

Open the item and use the notes field on the detail page. Notes auto-save as you type.

Can I change an item later?

Yes. Item statuses and notes are meant to be updated as your situation changes.

Why do I not see reminders?

Reminders are tied to authenticated accounts. Guest mode does not show synced reminders.

Can a trusted person edit my plan?

No. Shared plans are read-only. The trusted person can view the shared snapshot, but not edit your checklist.

Can I export my data?

Yes. The settings page includes TXT backup export/import, and the export page includes PDF-based outputs.

Why is Spanish documentation not available yet?

Some app screens are available in Spanish, but the published user documentation is still English-only.

Important caveats or limitations

  • Styx is not legal, financial, or tax advice.
  • Territory-specific legal overlays may be intentionally limited while review is still in progress.
  • Guest-mode data lives in the current browser unless exported or migrated.
  • Shared plans are intentionally read-only and omit some private data.
